Introduction of partner Star Bulk, why do they participate and why is DT4GS important for Star Bulk.

Star Bulk is a global shipping company providing worldwide seaborne transportation solutions in the dry bulk sector. Star Bulk’s vessels transport major bulks, which include iron ore, minerals and grain, and minor bulks, which include bauxite, fertilizers and steel products.

Star Bulk was incorporated in the Marshall Islands on December 13, 2006 and maintains executive offices in Athens, Oslo, New York, Limassol and Singapore. Star Bulk fleet will comprise of 128 modern bulk carriers built in world-class shipyards and with an average age of approximately 9.3 years one top performer in the Rightship risk rating globally. Star Bulk is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact supports the Global Maritime Forum as a partner and is a member of the Getting to Zero Coalition alliance.

Star Bulk lead LL4 and the overall DT4GS developments for bulk carriers leveraging its data acquisition hardware that feeds in house developed VPM software. Strong interest to explore hull DTs and cargo optimization supported by e-robotics and will also deliver industry perspective in DT4GS Modelling Framework (WP1) and DT4GS Data Space. (T2.2)
