The DT4GS Final General Assembly, held on 27-28 February 2025 in Genoa, Italy, was a hybrid event, bringing together project partners both in person and online to review progress and discuss the future of Digital Twin technology in sustainable shipping.
Day 1 (27 February 2025) focused on the achievements of each work package, covering key developments in modelling frameworks, open infrastructure, knowledge hubs, and living labs. Discussions highlighted advancements in simulation tools, decision-support systems, and Digital Twin applications for vessel optimization. Partners shared insights on real-world implementation, including collaboration models with ports and industry stakeholders, ensuring the long-term impact of DT4GS innovations. The day concluded with strategic discussions on dissemination, commercialization, and policy recommendations to maximize adoption.
Day 2 (28 February 2025) featured a workshop dedicated to demonstrating the practical applications of Digital Twins in ship operations and decarbonization efforts. Participants explored how data-driven insights and real-time optimization can enhance vessel performance, reduce emissions, and support decision-making. A panel discussion with DT4GS Alliance members provided first-hand experiences on integrating Digital Twins into fleet operations. The workshop concluded with an open session on how new stakeholders can join the DT4GS Alliance, fostering continued collaboration and industry-wide impact.
As DT4GS nears completion, the project continues to lay the foundation for the digital transformation of the maritime sector, supporting the transition toward zero-emission shipping through cutting-edge technology and industry collaboration.
