DT4GS is formalizing research synergies with several EU projects dedicated to the decarbonization mission in shipping. Below is a list of EU projects:
- ORC4SHIP (link to project website) offers an ORC engine for zero carbon production of electricity onboard.
- ENGIMMONIA (link to project website) performs research on the applicability and performance of absorption chillers, ORC engines, and PV panels toward green shipping operation.
- GATERS (link to project website) demonstrates a game-changer in ship propulsion, a rudder that promises up to 30% energy savings.
- BugWright2 (link to project website) integrates robotics in hull inspection and cleaning for maximizing hull performance.
The aim is to design or adopt the digital models of the energy-saving technologies investigated and produced in the affiliated projects and incorporate them into the DT4GS digital twin system.
Digital twins will simulate and consolidate a thorough validation of the decarbonization performance of the innovations along the vessel’s lifetime.
DT4GS has received funding from the Horizon Europe framework programme under Grant Agreement No 101056799.
